P — Riley Crum, Lewiston-Porter

• Year: Senior

• Stats: 2.75 ERA, 169 SO, 1.19 WHIP

• Scoop: Crum put up another dominant season in her final campaign; she garnered another All-Area selection, was once again honored as All-Western New York Large School, first team All-Niagara Frontier League and NFL Pitcher of the Year. The Niagara University commit also provided at the plate, with a .367 batting average, .550 slugging percentage, 19 RBIs and a team-high four triples, helping the Lancers to a berth in the Section VI Class A-2 championship.

P — Mackenzie Quider, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Senior

• Stats: 2.09 ERA, 47 SO, 1.24 WHIP

• Scoop: A member of the 2018 Gazette All-Area Softball team, Quider did her thing on the mound and with the bat in her hands in 2019. She batted .492 for the season, with a .514 OBP, 24 RBIs and 2 homers, en route to NW's first NFL title since 2014 and a second straight berth in the A-1 championship.

INF — Mackenzie Franks, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .390 avg., .462 OBP, 3 HR

• Scoop: This year's pick for the Gazette Player of the Year had about as well-rounded a season as they come. Franks was one of three players picked for the All-WNY and All-WNY Large Schools teams at shortstop. The first team All-NFL selection was named the NFL Player of the Year, with her 28 RBIs, 28 runs scored and stellar .944 fielding percentage.

INF — Larissa Reid, Lewiston-Porter

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .444 avg., .551 OBP, .571 SLG

• Scoop: Reid also finds herself back on the All-Area team after another first team All-NFL season and helping the Lancers play in a second straight sectional championship.

INF — Maggie Waechter, Lewiston-Porter

• Year: Junior

• Stats: .500 avg., 3 HRs, 23 RBIs

• Scoop: The Lancers' lone underclassmen was also a first team All-NFL selection, Waechter led the team in batting average, RBIs, home runs, hits (38), doubles (9) and runs scored (28). She was second on the team with three triples and had a sizzling .816 slugging percentage.

INF — Avianna Peterson, Niagara Falls

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .479 avg., .753 SLG, 41 PO

• Scoop: The Wolverines' senior leader was an honorable mention All-WNY Large Schools selection, made her fifth straight All-NFL team and received her fourth consecutive first team all-league selection this spring. Peterson had 10 multi-hit games on the season and will be joining Crum as a Purple Eagle this fall.

OF — Arianna Welch, Niagara Falls

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .481 avg., .585 OBP, 33 PO

• Scoop: Another first team All-NFL selection for Niagara Falls, Welch had a stellar season with her bat, but might have been even more impressive with her fielding. She touted a .947 fielding percentage for the year and only had two errors all season.

OF — Madison Evarts, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .493 avg., .558 OBP, 22 SB

• Scoop: NW places another member on the All-Area team in back-to-back years, after the senior captain fell one base short of her remarkable stolen base total from 2018. Evarts also added a HR, scored 30 runs and notched 8 RBIs.

OF — Elanna Lysiak, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Freshman

• Stats: .536 avg., 5 HR, .560 OBP

• Scoop: She may have been one of the youngest players on the team, but you could argue this freshman sensation was the Falcons' best hitter. She led the team in batting average, home runs and on-base percentage, while managing to total 26 RBIs, scoring 26 runs and posting a .860 fielding percentage.
