Joe Fischer had two goals and two assists and Pete Aronica added a pair of tallies as Grand Island knocked off Lockport, 7-2 in a non-league boys lacrosse contest Wednesday.

Also for GI (1-1 overall), Kyle Spratford, Kolby Banker and Andy LaLonde had a goal apiece and goalkeeper Jon Anderson made six saves. For Lockport (1-2), Baxter Sukdolak and Dan Kramer scored.

Wilson 10, Medina 8

Erick Rudolph had five goals and an assist as the Lakemen rolled out to a 10-4 lead, then held on for the win against Medina in the Class C opener for both schools.

Steve Keefer had two goals and an assist while Kyle Lacey had two goals for the winners. Mike Taylor added a goal and two assists for Wilson (1-0 o0verall, 1-0 Class C). Brad Zacher had four goals for Medina (1-2, 0-1).

Lew-Port 4, Ken East 3 (OT)

Senior captain Shawn Ferger scored a pair of goals and Nick McEldowney added one but Ken East (0-1) fell in Section VI Independent league action. Information was not available for Lew-Port.


Niagara Falls 4, Wilson 1

T.J. Bullock won a three-set thriller over Jake Rohring to lead the Falls to victory in non-league action at Hyde Park. Mike Burns also won a singles match for the Falls (2-0 overall). Kyle Bogdan had the lone victory for Wilson (0-1).
