Bisons beat IronPigs, Jays sign McDade

Toronto Blue Jays ace R.A. Dickey got some additional spring training work by pitching for the Buffalo Bisons, getting the win in Buffalo’s 4-2 victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in Clearwater, Florida on Saturday.

Dickey, who was a member of the Bisons roster in 2010, pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed just two runs on six hits and struck out two batters.

Erik Kratz and Kenny Wilson both had a RBI for the Bisons, who improved their preseason record to 3-1.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays announced earlier in the day they had signed infielder Mike McDade to a minor league contract.

The 24-year-old McDade, who spent the first six years of his professional career in the Toronto system, spent last season with the Charlotte Knights, hitting .254 with 18 doubles, 10 home runs and 46 RBI in 94 games.
