P — Ryan Mellerski, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Junior

• Stats: 4-1, 0.70 ERA, 48 K

• Scoop: One of the pitchers from the Falcons' dynamic duo on the mound, Mellerski was as reliable as they come in the regular season. He would then turn up the heat once the Class A-1 playoffs came around; in his first two starts of the postseason, Mellerski pitched nine shutout innings of work across 10 total innings pitched. 

P — Thomas Peltier, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Senior

• Stats: 3.20 ERA, 71 K, 44 IP

• Scoop: Emerging as NW's closer late in the season, the Canisius College commit led the team in strikeouts and innings pitched, helping the squad earn a berth in the Class A sectional final against Kenmore West.

IF — Peyton Siegmann, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .389, 22 RBI, 21 H

• Scoop: Our 2019 Niagara Gazette Baseball Player of the Year was the Falcons' constant presence at first base and one of the area's more timely hitters, racking up a ton of RBIs at the plate. He was also an underrated pitching option too, giving up just two earned runs and going undefeated with a 3-0 record.

IF — Zachary Brydges, Niagara Falls

• Year: Junior

• Stats: .425, 12 RBI, 31 H

• Scoop: Leading this year's Wolverines, Brydges finished the season as an honorable mention honoree for the All-WNY team and was a first team All-NFL player, with a supremely high batting average, three triples and five doubles, 21 runs scored and only eight strikeouts at the plate.

IF — Adam Rankie, Starpoint

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .424, .593 SLG, 2.54 ERA

• Scoop: The senior team captain had a strong 2019 campaign for the Spartans, with a first team All-ECIC II selection, leading the team in hits (25), runs scored (14), stolen bases (7), home runs (2) and slugging percentage. The honorable mention All-WNY pick also put together a solid season on the mound, touting a 4-2 record as a starter and helping Starpoint secure the No. 3-seed in the Class A-2 Section VI playoffs.

IF — Cooper Krawczyk, Lewiston-Porter

• Year: Junior

• Stats: .333, .500 OBP, 9 SB

• Scoop: Krawczyk is a returner from last year's All-Area team and was another honorable mention on the All-WNY team. The first team All-NFL pick also had eight doubles, had a stretch of eight consecutive at-bats with hits and only committed one fielding error all year, leading to a staggering .984 fielding percentage.

OF — Chris Cacciatore, Niagara Wheatfield

• Year: Senior

• Stats: .358, 13 RBI, 12 SB

• Scoop: Cacciatore was a part of the 2018 All-Area team and was also an honorable mention for All-WNY this year, with 11 of his 19 hits this past season registering as doubles. 

OF — Josh Milleville, Starpoint

• Year: Sophomore

• Stats: .436, .530 OBP, .527 SLG

• Scoop: The Spartans' stud sophomore was also a first teamer for ECIC II and honorable mention All-WNY selection, leading the team in batting average and on-base percentage and was second on the team in hits (24) and runs scored (13). He also shined as a fielder, posting a .964 fielding percentage, 28 putouts and finishing the season with a mere two errors.

OF — Casey Trombley, North Tonawanda 

• Year: Senior

• .338, .424 OBP, 10 SB

• Scoop: This Lumberjack was a first team All-NFL pick who totaled 25 hits, five doubles, three triples and a stellar .975 fielding percentage, with only one error all season long.
