Do you crave beauty on a budget? Like many teenagers with a limited income, I look for a bargain. To satisfy my thrifty side, I enjoy shopping at second-hand shops.
With a little luck and a lot of time, one can find a true treasure. Vintage jeans, antique jewlery and retro fashions are just some of the many finds. A favorite recent pick was a ’70s-style Bermuda bag. The compliments I received were overwhelming.
Many celebrities shop at second-hand stores. Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Mary-Kate Olsen and Lindsay Lohan talk highly of the success they achieve with each shopping trip. All teenagers can find fashion steals by searching through others’ donations.
Entering with $10 in your pocket is enough to guarantee a successful shopping trip. For those that don’t wish to splurge on everyday outfits, thrift shops and vintage closets are must. Finding my prom dress for $12 at a local second-hand shop led to my obsession with the Salvation Army, Goodwill and Amvets.
