Jerla elected tolead PRSA board
Lockport resident Devon Jerla was elected president of the 2018 board of directors of the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Jerla is a marketing specialist at the University at Buffalo.
The chapter’s executive leadership also includes: Stacy VanBlarcom, APR, communications manager for Verve Dance Studio, president-elect; Sarah Miller, media project manager, Bartercard Buffalo, secretary; Michael Freedman, associate director of public relations and manager of online content for Niagara University, treasurer; and Beth Silverman Gruber, web coordinator for Delaware North, immediate past president.
Directors-at-Large are Matthew Biddle, assistant director of communications, University at Buffalo School of Management; Rose Caldwell, communications and public relations director, Catholic Charities of Buffalo; and Grace Gerass, content marketing specialist at Quinlan.
Founded in 1963, the Buffalo Niagara chapter of PRSA has nearly 160 members representing all areas of business and industry, including corporate, nonprofit, government, counseling firms, educational institutions and professional service firms.
Pastor joins Memorial board
The Rev. Craig D. Pridgen, senior pastor at True Bethel Baptist Church, Niagara Falls, and a senior business and planning analyst at M&T Bank, has been elected to the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Board of Directors.
A graduate of Medaille College and Berean Baptist College, Pridgen has extensive management experience in estate collections, risk management and regulatory compliance.
His extensive community involvement has included service to churches and civic organizations in Erie and Niagara counties and includes board membership with Literacy New York Buffalo-Niagara.
He has also been an organizer of Pastors, Politicians & Police on Patrol, a Niagara Christian Basketball League mentor and a member of the M&T Bank African American Resource Group Leadership Team.
