The Kenan Center in Lockport has announced a partnership with Lockport Main Street for a one-day Canal Street Artisan Showcase. The small-scale event will be an extension of the weekly Lockport Community Market, highlighting local artisans, craftsmen and women.

“For decades, the Kenan Center has been a hub for all things art. We are excited to showcase some of the artists we’ve worked with throughout the years, and some new” says Parrish Gibbons Herzog, PR & marketing manager at the Kenan Center.

This one-day event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday along Canal Street. The weekend also features Lockport in Bloom Garden Walk, the Sweet Chalk Fest and the Historic Palace Theatre Lockport opening weekend of "Footloose!"

“Canal Street is proving to be an area mecca for community, history, art and culture,” says Lockport Main Street Executive Director Jessica Dittly, “We are honored to be at the forefront of this movement with our local partners.”

Artisans include Lee Williams of Pugbully Studio, Jennifer Ryan of Jen and Ink, Knit Buffalo, Lisa Hodge of Love in the Buff and more. The Canal Street Artisan Festival will be in tandem with the Lockport Community Market.
