Detectives are investigating the robbery of a 25-year-old woman Wednesday night in front of a motel in the 400 block of Main Street. 

The victim, a Korean international student, said she was sitting on a bench in front of the motel waiting for a bus at 11:10 p.m., Wednesday, when a man walked by, went around the corner and reappeared with what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun wrapped in a red handkerchief. The man grabbed her purse and ran northbound on Main Street.

The woman was about to take a bus to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport for a flight to Boston. Inside her purse was a Korean passport, $110, an international student card and a $500 Nikon camera.

She told police she was in the U.S. to improve her English language skills.
