Falls woman wins car in Tops Monopoly game

Doris Simmons, along with her sisters and friends, celebrate her new car with Tops store manager Scott Davis and Tops district manager Tim Tripi. Simmons won the car in the store's Monopoly promotion.

A Niagara Falls woman has won the sixth of 10 cars being given by Tops Friendly Markets during its Monopoly Rip It and Win It game.

Doris Simmons won the brand new car after shopping at the Tops at 1000 Portage Ave. and ripping open her instant win ticket.

“What a blessing this is,” Simmons told Tops officials. “I can’t believe this is happening to me!”

Simmons said she is a loyal Tops shopper and had been playing the Tops Monopoly game faithfully for years.

“I haven’t had a car in a long time and help a lot of people in the community so this comes at the right time," she added.

Her sister along with her sisters and friends joined her for the celebration along with Tops store manager Scott Davis, and Tops district manager Tim Tripi.

Tops has presented five other recipients with a brand new car through Tops Monopoly Rip It and Win It game. Recipients are scattered across the chains footprint from Oneida, Syracuse, and Watertown to two in Buffalo. Store officials said one recipient in Buffalo paid it forward and gifted her car to a friend.

More than 464,000 instant winners have already won and over 20,000 have won by playing online.
