Falls police were called out for reports of large tree branches down on Weston Avenue and 87th Street during this past weekend’s storm.

Officers were sent to the 2200 block of Weston Avenue about 1:15 p.m. Sunday after residents reported a large branch had broken off the top of a tree on city property and landed on a chain-link fence on the 24th Street side of the property.

There was no estimate of damage.

About 15 minutes later, officers were called to the 800 block of 87th Street where large tree limb had fallen from a tree on city property and landed on a 2010 Chevy Malibu, damaging the hood, roof and both fenders.

The falling branch also damaged nearby power and cable lines as well.
