The response to Catholic Radio WLOF’s 10th anniversary conference at HSBC Arena in downtown Buffalo on Aug. 15, featuring the Rev. John Corapi, has been so strong nationally that more than 6,000 tickets have been sold.

This means that nearly half the arena’s seats have been purchased, but The Station of the Cross (101.7-FM in Buffalo and 1460-AM in Rochester) still has a limited number of seats set aside for listeners in Buffalo and Rochester.

To purchase these seats, call the station at 839-6117 or 1-877-888-6279. There are also a limited number of sponsorships, featuring VIP seating and dinner on Aug. 14 at the Adams Mark Hotel with Father Corapi and guest speaker Raymond Arroyo. Call for details or visit

Corapi will be preaching what he says will be one of his most powerful presentations ever on the person and power of the Holy Spirit. He will be delivering four exciting and moving sermons for the first and only time at this special conference. Topics will include, “The Theology of the Person and Power of the Holy Spirit,” “The Gift that Contains All Gifts,” “The Holy Spirit is Given to Those that Obey,” and “The Spirit We Have Been Given is No Cowardly Spirit!”

Adding to the event, which will be the only appearance by Father Corapi in 2009, will be a Mass celebrated by Buffalo Bishop Edward M. Kmiec.

Any proceeds from the event will go to station improvements — such as relocating its towers to improve reception in the city of Buffalo — or to expanding the ministry through the purchase of other stations. This could bring the station’s signal into the southern part of the Diocese of Rochester and into other regions of New York.
