Rape suspect arraigned Friday

Niagara County sheriff’s deputies brought Curtis J. Pardee, 22, 5546 Idle Road, Burt, back to North Tonawanda to be arraigned on rape charges Friday.

Capt. William Hall said Pardee was arrested for a local incident that occurred Feb. 23 after a joint investigation between North Tonawanda police and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department. Pardee is being held on charges of rape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, but Hall said he didn’t want to comment on the age of the victim since it could be used to identify the person.

Pardee is being held in lieu of $250,000 cash or $500,000 property bail.

• ARREST: A Buffalo man was arrested for assaulting a woman. Michael Ray Turner, 47, 605 E. Ferry St. lower, was charged with unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. Turner is accused of holding a woman inside her home in the 3400 block of Ninth Street on Friday morning. He is also accused of beating the woman by repeatedly punching and choking her.

• STOLEN CAR: A Townline Road man reported Wednesday that overnight, someone stole his 1990 Chevrolet. The man said the keys were in the car when it was stolen. The car is worth about $1,500, the report said.
