A 30-year-old Niagara Falls woman was arrested after trying to smuggle drugs into the Five Points State Correctional Facility in Romulus, New York State Police announced Tuesday.
Vanessa M. Medina, 30, of Niagara Falls, was charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
After receiving a complaint of drugs being smuggled into the Five Points facility, an investigation revealed that Medina was in possessed of a quantity of synthetic marijuana while being processed in as a visitor at the facility. The drugs were discovered after Medina admitted to corrections officers that she had hidden them on her person.
Medina was transported to the State Police Waterloo Barracks where she was charged.
