Falls police were called to a home on the 6000 block of Devlin Avenue on Wednesday by investigators from the SPCA of Niagara for a report of a dog owner who was refusing to get treatment for his injured pet.
SPCA officials said the dog had a broken leg the man was refusing to treat.
The owner told police the dog suffered the injury three weeks ago when it had fallen down the stairs.
The officer noted that the dog could not walk on its hind legs and seemed lethargic. After speaking with police, the dog’s owner agreed to sign the injured dog over to the SPCA.
The dog was taken to the SPCA of Niagara facility for treatment.
