The driver in a fatal Wheatfield hit-and-run took a plea deal Wednesday afternoon in Niagara County Court.
Anthony J. DiFilippo, 40, of Michael Drive, plead guilty to a reduced count of attempted leaving the scene of a fatality accident without reporting it in front of State Supreme Court Justice Richard Kloch Sr.
DiFilippo had been charged as the driver of the car that struck Ryan Fischer, 16, as he was walking with a female friend in the 2900 block of Krueger Road just after 7 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2014. The crash took place near the entrance to the parking lot of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company.
The court did not commit to a sentence on Wednesday but prosecutors and the family are recommending a sentence of six months in jail and five years probation.
