Niagara Wine Trail USA wineries have partnered with local food banks and charitable organizations to ensure a bountiful holiday season for area residents in need.

During the annual Share the Bounty event, to be held Friday through Nov. 10, participating wineries will accept non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations in exchange for wine tastings to benefit the food bank or non-profit of their choice. For tastings, a minimum of three food items is recommended.

The offer is good from noon to 5 p.m. all days except Saturday, when tastings begin at 10 a.m.

Tasting fees collected from visitors who don’t bring a donation for the food back will be given to the charity of each participating winery’s choice.

Participants and their chosen charities are: A Gust of Sun Winery, WNY Heroes; Arrowhead Spring Vineyards, Meals on Wheels; Eveningside Vineyards, Response to Love Center in Buffalo; Flight of Five Winery, St. John’s Outreach in Lockport; Honeymoon Trail Winery, Mercy Flight; Long Cliff Winery, Cambria Volunteer Fire Company; Leonard Oakes Estate Winery, Food Link; Midnight Run Wine Cellars, Stroke Awareness; Niagara Landing Wine Cellars, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 120; Schulze Vineyards & Winery, Newfane Community food pantry; Schwenk Wine Cellars and Kendall Community Food Cupboard.
