After falling awkwardly on his shoulder in Thursday’s practice, tight end Robert Royal was in a sling watching from the sidelines during Friday’s workout. While Royal will not participate in the rest of the offseason activities, the injury is not believed to be serious, and will not need surgery, according to coach Dick Jauron.

“I don’t know the technical term for it,” Jauron said. “It is more of a sprain, according to Bud (Carpenter). We are very optimistic long term.”

With Royal out, Kevin Everett continue to impress observers and was a favorite target of all three quarterbacks during 7-on-7 drills. The third-year player out of Miami caught one pass for one yard last season.
