It’s already well known that Brian Moorman has had a tremendous season punting for the Buffalo Bills, but a closer look at the statistics shows just how good it’s been.

Moorman has a 41.4-yard net punting average, which is tops in the NFL. If he can maintain an average of more than 40 yards, he’d become the first punter to do it since the stat became official in 1976.

“At this point he’s having a phenomenal year,” Bills special teams coordinator Bobby April told Buffalobills.com. “He’s just got to continue to do it. No punter has ever netted 40. Over 40 for a season is like the four-minute mile for punters.”
