Scott P. Kauffman, 44, of Cheektowaga died on Thursday April 23, 2009 at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born May 5, 1964 in Medina, NY, the son of Paul (Erma) Kauffman of Elba, NY and the late Brenda Kauffman.

Scott spent his childhood in Elba and was a 1982 Medina High graduate. Along with his wife, Julie, Scott resided 20 years in Columbus, Ohio. Kauffman earned B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting. He also served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Belleau Wood ,1982-1986. Scott relocated to NY after accepting a position at Benderson Development as a Project Manager for the Northeast roofing division. In addition to managing a career at Benderson, Scott loved to ride his Harley Davidson Road King and took time out for fishing and Guitar Hero. He was a loyal Buffalo Bills fan no matter where his life took him. His other football favorites were OSU or competing in on-line Fantasy Football. His favorite music was anything Sammy Hagar or Stevie Ray Vaughn. Other favorites included Nickelback, Metallica, Kid Rock, Eagles, GNR and anything 80’s rock and some country. He enjoyed concerts and having a good time. He often mentioned, “Life is Good”. Scott loved to travel and saw many continents while in the Navy and lived in several states throughout the US. He vacationed wherever the sun shined and enjoyed life with his wife Julie and their menagerie of dogs. Scott always found time for friends and family and is described by most as an “All around nice guy”.

Scott is survived along with his father by a son, Michael Kauffman of Medina; a sister, Gina (Terry) Miller of Albion; a half brother, Tim (Nicky) Kauffman of Elba; half sister, Kim Lockwood of Medina; step brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Bieber of Elba, Roger Bieber of LeRoy; step sisters, Jean Reinhardt of Corfu, and Debbie (Trahey) Crawford of Delaware and former wife, Julie Kauffman of Ohio; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial luncheon to celebrate Scott’s life is to be held at the Elba Recreation Hall, 4173 Oak Orchard Rd., (Rt. 98) Elba, NY on Saturday, May 23rd starting at 12:00 noon.
