Ruth S. Neilans (Babe) died on March 21, 2008. She essentially grew up and lived almost all of her 87 years on Bacon-Homestead Farms. Under the care and guidance of her wonderful Aunts Ruth and Mary, she learned about love and life on the farm. From delivering “Jersey” milk to the village of Albion to doing whatever was needed to support “the work that needed to be done”, Ruth’s cheerful, committed presence was felt by everyone associated with the farm. She particularly appreciated and always spoke lovingly of her Aunts and Tim Davis (Uncle Dunk), foreman of the farm.

In this farm setting she married Henry Neilans and the two of them raised four children with love, tenderness and just the right amount of firmness. Each has gone on to live very successful and happy lives. She leaves all four of her devoted children, Richard (Gloria), Thomas (Eileen), Robert and Mary (Russ) in good health along with four grandchildren, Timothy (Wendy), Jamie, Brody and Mackenzie Neilans and three great grandchildren, Tyler, Zach and Nick. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. There are no prior calling hours. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. An online guestbook is available at
