Lois (Shahin) Riscile, of Niagara Falls, died on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward I. Shahin. She attended local schools and was graduated from Niagara Falls High Schools and Kelly Business Institute. She worked for O’Reilly Realty and Insurance Company as a secretary.

Mrs. Riscile was a member of St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church and its Rosary and Altar Society, the Niagara Chapter 17 Women of the Moose serving in offices of Senior Regent, Star Recorder and Collegiate and the Golden Age Club.

Survivors include her husband, William G. Riscile; two daughters, Amelia Lydle (Michael) of Grand Island, Darlene Meidenbauer (Eric) of Ankeny, IA; a brother, Edward J. Shahin of McCain, VA; her favorite aunt, Adele Shahin of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren, Michael and Mark Lydle and Kassidy and William Meidenbauer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, William G. Riscile, Jr. in 1995; and her brother, Gordon Shahin.

Friends may call Monday from 2-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where prayers will be said Tuesday 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church. The interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church.
