Julie B. Thomas, 60, of Linwood Avenue, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport. Mrs. Thomas was born February 12, 1949 in Sharon, PA, the daughter of Bill and Julia (McEwen) Breese.

She taught English and Spanish at Niagara Christian Academy and was employed at Teletech and the Bank of America customer service call centers. She was a pianist and taught piano.

She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and a member of the Breast Cancer Support Group at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Harold Thomas; her children, Christel Allen of Hickory, NC, Megan Sharpe of Niagara Falls, Rev. A.J. Thomas of Boone, NC, and David Thomas of Rochester, NY; her parents, Bill and Julia (McEwen) Breese of Fredonia, PA; three sisters, Jacqueline Bull of Cambridge, Ont., Jayne Mays of New Hamburg, PA, and Marla Sabey of North Canton, OH; a brother, John Breese of Mercer, PA; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

The family will receive friends Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue. Friends may call after 3 PM Sunday in St. James United Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road, where funeral services will be held at 4 PM, with the Rev. Cassandra Salter-Smith and the Rev. Dr. David Kofahl co-officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in North Carolina. Memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
