Jean (nee Kinzly) Holrod, age 90, of the City of Tonawanda, Monday, March 9, 2009 at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, she was the wife of Norman E. Holrod, who died in 1996; daughter of the late Eugene and Maida (nee Kuhn) Kinzly; and sister of the late Earl Kinzly, Kathryn (the late Jack) Loeswick, Richard Kinzly and Dorothy (the late Friebert) Ellman. Jean was a 1936 graduate of Tonawanda High School and a retired Bank Officer of Marine Midland State Trust in North Tonawanda. She was past president of Twin City Women's Bowling Assn. and a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Tonawanda Senior Citizens.

She is survived by three children, Carolyn (John) Morley of Ocala, FL, Eugene (fiancee Beverly Streck) Holrod and Judith (Paul) Szukala, both of North Tonawanda; eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen (the late Richard) Kinzly of Tonawanda and Ann (the late Albert) Holrod of North Tonawanda and was the very dear friend of George and Peggy Hess of Tonawanda; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 14th at 11 AM in First Presbyterian Church, 149 Broad St., in Tonawanda. The Rev. Stuart Buisch will officiate. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Tonawanda.
