Donald E. Reynolds, 75, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at home, surrounded by his loving family, while under their care and Niagara Hospice, following a brief illness. Born on May 20, 1932 in Flushing, OH, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Cole) Reynolds.

Don came to Niagara Falls, NY in 1941 and attended local schools. He served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954, serving 16 months in Korea. Don married the love of his life, Mary Lou (Burden) Reynolds on May 26, 1956 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He worked for International Paper, the Department of Defense at the U.S. Army Support Center, owned and operated Don’s Deli in the early 1970’s and worked for the City of Niagara Falls at the wastewater treatment plant, retiring in 1990.

Don was a member of the VFW Post #54. He managed little league baseball at Hyde Park and in the ‘North End’ in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Don was an avid New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Don is survived by one daughter, Julie (Michael Bateman) Keller; one son, Steve Reynolds; four granddaughters, Chantal and Lindsay Keller, Samantha and Stephanie Reynolds; one great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Keller; three sisters-in-law, Judy, Diana and Catherine Burden; one brother-in-law, Timothy Burden; one daughter-in-law, Sue Reynolds and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 7-8:30 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a memorial service will be held at 8:30 PM. Don graciously donated his remains to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
