The reigning National Lacrosse League champion Buffalo Bandits already have a home playoff date wrapped up. Now, they’re looking for their third consecutive East Division title.

They’ll get their chance at 7:30 p.m. today when the Boston Blazers visit HSBC Arena. Buffalo, coached by Niagara-Wheatfield graduate Darris Kilgour, is 10-5 this year, but did lose at Boston last Saturday.

The Bandits will also be looking to make a little history as they are just 15,819 fans shy of setting the all-time NLL regular-season attendance record of 140,942 fans, set in 2004 by the Colorado Mammoth. The Bandits set a franchise record with 135,120 fans last season.

Also, the league’s goal-scoring title appears to have come down to Buffalo teammates Mark Steenhuis and John Tavares. Steenhuis had 48 tallies, while Tavares has lit the lamp 47 times heading into today’s tilt.

The Bandits will return to action May 2 when they host an East Division semifinal against an opponent to be determined. Buffalo, Boston and New York have clinched playoff berths, while Philadelphia and Rochester are still vying for the final spot.

Tickets for that game will go on sale at 9 a.m. today at,, Tops Friendly Markets and the HSBC Arena box office. You can also charge by phone at 1-888-223-6000. Tickets will range from $25 to $35.
