Anthony LaBarbera, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Utica, NY, May 1, 1926, the son of the late Girolamo "Jerry" and Rose LaBarbera.

Mr. LaBarbera grew up in Utica, before joining the US NAVY in 1943 and later transferred to the US Air Force, where he retired after 20 years of service. He moved to Niagara Falls in 1956, where he was employed with the Union Carbon Plant for many years, before retiring.

Mr. LaBarbera is survived by his wife, Anna (Castellani) LaBarbera, whom he married in 1952; two daughters, Suzanne (Christopher) Brown and Linda LaBarbera, both of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Alex (fiance of Lindsay Smith), Andrea, Allison and Christopher Brown and Nathan LaBarbera; one brother, Raymond (Rosemary) LaBarbera; two sisters, Mary LaBarbera and Rosalie (Carmen) D'Ambro, all of Utica; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation, as Mr. LaBarbera donated his body to the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. A memorial mass will held at a time to be announced. Memorials may be made in his name to the Niagara Falls Chapter of the American Red Cross, 2079 Sawyer Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
