200811 VFW Gratitude 1

Members of the LaSalle-Griffon VFW Post 917, joined by local dignitaries, showed their appreciation to the Home Depot Foundation for its generous help sprucing up the post. From left are: Home Depot representatives Kassem Fakih; Travis Kuder; post commander Richard Baron; post steward Al Lachance; Gerald Leo, Chief Msgt Air Force retired; Assemblyman Angelo Morinello; and Mayor Robert Restaino. The Home Depot Foundation was involved in getting the VFW a $16,000 grant to have new flooring and many structural updates put into the club out of gratitude to the veterans and to let them know how much they are appreciated. “Home Depot supports veterans and this is a true example of its commitment to our heroes,” said Morinello. “Veterans of Foreign Wars have risked it all to protect our freedoms and I’m grateful Home Depot stepped up to the plate to honor them the right way.”
