Boating safety course Saturday

The America’s Boating Course, which is required for PWC/Jet Ski Operators, will be held at the Olcott Fire Hall on Saturday.

Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the lessons will be from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person and $20 for a second family member. Operators from 10-8, as well as boaters who navigate into Canadian waters, are required to take the course by the state.

Many boat insurance companies will offer boat insurance discounts to clients who complete America’s Boating Course. Safe boating operation, navigation rules, New York State and Federal boating regulations will be covered.

Women’s club to meet Wednesday

The Niagara Women’s Club will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Inn on the River, 7001 Buffalo Ave. The slate of officers for 2008-09 will be voted on.
