OPP named good neighbor

Operation Pride & Progress will receive the Memorial Medical Center Good Neighbor Award at 12:30 p.m. Friday on the Iney Wallens Show broadcast on WJJL 1440 from the dining room of Chu’s Chinese Food Restaurant, 1019 Main St. The group is being honored its many years of community service. Memorial Day Parade registration open

All active duty, military, veterans’ groups, civic organizations, youth and musicians are invited to participate in the Niagara Falls Memorial Day Parade to be held at 11 a.m. May 24. Applications are due May 19.

The parade will begin at the City Market along Pine Avenue, to Cenotaph Park on Main Street, where a brief ceremony and wreath laying observance will take place.

Committee planning meetings will be held at 7 p.m. May 5, 12 and 19 at the American Legion John J. Welch Post No. 381, 923 Niagara Ave.

Head-shaving fundraiser

St. Baldrick’s Foundation will hold a fundraiser with 50 men and women will shave their heads bald to raise money for childhood cancer research.
