Lancers top Blue Devils in overtime

Niagara Gazette — Erin Fitzpatrick and Meagan Ireland both found the back of the net in the first period of extra time to lead the Lewiston-Porter girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over Kenmore West in a Niagara Frontier League match Monday.

Maggy Dorian assisted on both goals and Erin Kinz made 13 saves to earn the shutout for the Lancers (4-4). 

Hannah Post tallied 17 saves for the Blue Devils (3-5) in a losing effort.

Tonawanda 2, Eden 1

Kaylin Compeau scored the game-winning goal and added an assist for the Warriors (7-4, 5-2 ECIC IV). Hope Balling scored and Meghan Thomas assisted on the winner.


Grand Island 3, Niagara Falls 0

Adam Heftka had 15 assists for the Vikings (6-0 NFL) in the 25-10, 25-10, 25-16 win. Stefon Caffee had eight service points and eight digs for the Wolverines (0-6).

Lockport 3, Nia.-Wheatfield 1

Jason Donorovich controlled the net with 12 blocks and Eamon Yates had five kills for the Lions (5-1 NFL) in the 25-15, 25-13, 16-25, 25-18 win.

North Tonawanda 3, Ken West 0

Andrew Metzger had 11 digs and four aces and Ryan Fritz tallied five kills for the Lumberjacks (3-2 NFL) in the 25-15, 25-21, 25-14 win. Tyler Rymarczyk had five kills for the Blue Devils (1-5).


Grand Island 3, Niagara Falls 0

Al Brown had 10 kills, Melissa Gibson had 18 assists, five digs and three aces and Sam Pangborn added four digs for the Vikings (8-0 NFL) in the 25-8, 25-13, 25-8 win. The Wolverines drop to 4-4 in league play.

Ken East 3, Lew-Port 2

Julia Switzer had 24 digs and 15 points and Dedee Rudroff had 17 points and six digs for the Bulldogs (1-7 NFL) in the 25-19, 14-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-18 win. Theresa Fleckenstein had 11 digs and six kills for the Lancers (3-5).

Lockport 3, Nia.-Wheatfield 1

Sara Franco and Brittany Sanford combined for 18 blocks for the Lions (3-6 NFL). Melissa Goeseke had 29 digs and an ace and Katie Mazierski had 15 digs and seven kills for the Falcons (6-2).

North Tonawanda 3, Ken West 1

Gabby Hansen had 31 digs and 25 kills and Leanna Metzger had 25 digs for the Lady Jacks (5-3 NFL) in the 23-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 win. Rebecca Gourlay had 20 digs for the Blue Devils (2-5).
