Niagara volleyball loses close match to Rider

Niagara Gazette — Niagara University’s volleyball team twice took leads in their match against Rider, but the Broncs won the fifth and decisive set as the Purple Eagles fell Sunday, 25-19, 21-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-8.

Niagara sophomore Chelsea Watson recorded a match-high 18 kills to set a new career mark, getting six of them in the second set. 

Melissa McGwin had six of her 12 kills in the fourth set. Logan Rae closed out that set with two straight aces, recording four aces for the match as well as 41 assists and 15 digs.

Niagara (2-21, 1-11 MAAC) begins a four-match road trip this Saturday at Iona.
