SABRES DOSE: Paetsch gets call with Tallinder sidelined

An injury forced the first change in the Sabres lineup this season on Saturday, giving defenseman Nathan Paetsch his first action of the season.

Paetsch replaced Henrik Tallinder, who had an “upper-body injury,” according to coach Lindy Ruff.

Paetsch played in just two games with the Sabres last season, one during the regular season and another during the playoffs.

The Sabres did have Derek Roy and Jochen Hecht in the lineup at HSBC Arena against the Atlanta Thrashers. Roy had been held out of Friday’s practice due to an unspecified injury and Hecht took a puck in the mouth in Thursday’s win over the New York Islanders.
