SABRES DOSE: Sabres sign three prospects

Centers Chris Thorburn and Jiri Novotny were among two prospects signed by the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.

The Web site also reported that 2005 first-round pick Marek Zagrapan has agreed to a deal. According to the site, the Slovakian agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal with the club. Buffalo selected Zagrapan 13th overall.

Novotny and Thorburn played large roles on the Rochester Americans, Buffalo’s American Hockey League affiliate, last season.

Zagrapan spent last season with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the QMJHL, as well as the Slovakian squad in the World Junior Championships.
