Starpoint takes Gentner softball tournament

Niagara Gazette — Starpoint prevailed over fifteen other schools to win the Gerry Gentner "Just Show Up" memorial softball tournament in Depew, defeating Frontier in the championship on Sunday, 3-2.

Starpoint previously defeated Williamsville North, 6-0, and Immaculata Academy, 6-0, on its way to the title game.

Junior Ashley Owens was named the tournament's MVP, while sophomore Allison Block was named All-Tournament.

Starpoint improved its softball record to 9-0 on the season and 2-0 in ECIC II.
