BOWLING ROUNDUP: Four achieve perfect games

Niagara Gazette — Ed O'Keefe, Phil Mitchell, Mark Donovan and Curk Burgess all rolled 300 games in action this week at various local bowling centers.

O'Keefe got his perfect game while playing in the Tuesday Men's league at Island Lanes. He finished with an overall series of 674. Lane officials say he three 126 pins above average as part of his accomplishment.

Mitchell scored his 300 in the Mr. Ventry's Pizza league at Bowl-O-Drome, part of a 677 overall series. Donovan and Burgess got their 300s at Rapids Bowling Center, with Donovan getting his in the Carbo 501 Mixed league and Burgess scoring his in the Sanborn Businessmen league.

Tom Cope missed a perfect game by one pin, rolling a 299 in the Boss Insurance men's league at Island Lanes.

Vern Jacobs, meanwhile, rolled a 290 as part of an 805 series while taking part in the Accurate Alignment League at Rapids. Chris Bauer rolled a 289 as part of an overall 836 in the same league.
