Niagara Gazette — The Niagara County Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams both lost on Tuesday, leaving both squads still in search of their first wins of the 2013 fall season.
The men hosted Mercyhurst Northeast, losing 4-1. Freshman Ryan Doyle of Newfane scored the lone goal for the Thunderwolves, who fell to 0-2 on the season. Their next game is Saturday at home against Fulton-Montgomery beginning at 2 p.m.

The Thunderwolves women’s squad also played host to Mercyhurst Northeast and fell behind early but stayed close for most of the match, losing by a 6-5 decision.
Freshman Kristi De Labio of Wheatfield, a former Starpoint player, scored four goals in her NCCC debut. Fellow freshman Paula Pinkert of Tonawanda scored the Thunderwolves’ other goal. Samantha Costanzo (North Tonawanda) and Katie Heeks (Rochester) had assists for NCCC, who fell to 0-2 on the season. The women travel to Broome Community College on Saturday for their next game.
