• Benjamin T. Stewart, age 34, of Gasport scored his first-ever hole in one late last week at Willowbrook Golf Course, achieving his ace on the 148-yard 12th Hole South using an 8 Iron. Keith Flagler, Bob Kane and Ryan Schaeffer were witnesses.
Golf course officials noted that about 45 minutes after Stewart scored his ace, a tournament was getting underway on the grounds that featured a new car to the first golfer to score a hole in one on that same hole during the event. Stewart was quoted by golf course officials about missing out on that opportunity by joking, “I’ve never been lucky, just good.”
