WNYPGA Section Championship begins today

Niagara Gazette — WNYPGA Section Championship begins today

Seneca Hickory Stick Resort in Lewiston will play host today and tomorrow to the 28th Annual Western New York Professional Golfers Association Section Championship.

PGA pros from clubs throughout Western New York will tee off this morning in the first round. Among local pros of note are Frank Garcia and Daniel Antonucci, who represent Niagara Frontier Country Club, and Joe Bock, the resident PGA Pro at Seneca Hickory Stick.

Assistant PGA Professional Alex Weir of Kahkwa Club will defend his title against 49 other area pros. Weir won the event when it was held last year at Oak Hill CC East.

The event is a 36-Hole Championship over two days, concluding tomorrow.
