Falls native Porter honored by Buff State

Niagara Gazette — Niagara Falls High School graduate Jazlyn Porter, now a freshman at Buffalo State College, has been honored by her school as its Athlete of the Week.

Porter received the honor following a strong performance last week in track, participating in the 4x400-meter relay team that finished first at the Allegheny Gator Invitational. That group posted a time of 3:51.15, breaking Buffalo State's record and posting the nation's seventh-fastest time this season.

Porter also placed third in the long jump, leaping 5.08 meters.
