Bisons lose second straight to Indy

Niagara Gazette — INDIANAPOLIS — A seven-run fifth inning helped the Indianapolis Indians erase a Buffalo Bisons lead, with the hosts handing the Herd their second straight loss, 14-7, at Victory Field.

After Indianapolis jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, Buffalo got its first run of the game in the third inning then briefly took the lead in the top of the fifth with a five-run burst. Luis Jiminez knocked home two of those runs with a home run, giving him a league-leading 36 RBIs so far this season.

The lead was short-lived, as the Indians responded in the bottom of the fifth.

Brett Carroll led the hosts with two home runs and four RBIs. Brooks Brown (2-0) got the win for the Indians while Dave Bush (4-3) took the loss for Buffalo.

Both teams will play again this morning, with the opening pitch scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
