Area Sports: Youth Softball, PAL Alumni basketball, PAL soccer

Niagara Gazette —

Brittney Benjamin had a pair of doubles and three RBIs and the Auto Collision and Glass Red Sox outlasted the Niagara Falls Teachers Union Royals, 18-16, in a Cayuga Major softball game.

Kayla Richards and Brianna Pringle had two hits apiece to bolster the Red Sox' offense. 

Jordyn Smith paced the Royals' at the plate with two hits. She also stole five bases. Isabella Casilio had a hit and two runs and Kaitlyn Leonard had a hit and two RBIs in support.

MENS BASKETBALL

PAL Alumni League

• Joe Lowery had 23 points and the Rockets defeated the Thunder, 98-90. Franklin Jones bolstered the Rockets' attack with 15 points. Jermaine Crumpton and Jordan Street had 28 and 25 points, respectively, for the Thunder.

• Behind 21 points from Marcus Feagin, the Grizzlies beat the Lakers, 80-76. TJ Crittenden and Marcus Henderson had 19 points in support. Rob Harris paced the Lakers with 30 points and Vinzell Watkins added 20.

SOCCER

Niagara PAL Travel

• Christian Meranto had two second-half goals and the Niagara PAL United U14 boys soccer team defeated the NWAA Revolution, 5-4. Nick McKean, Bennett Granieri and Keith Muldoon rounded out the Niagara team's scoring with a goal each.
