Sabres to name Rolston permanent head coach

Niagara Gazette — BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres have called a 11 a.m. news conference at which time they will discuss this morning's announcement that Ron Rolston has been named the permanent head coach of the National Hockey League team.

Rolston was named interim head coach of the Sabres on February 20 upon the dismissal of longtime head coach Lindy Ruff. Under Rolston, the Sabres finished 15-11-5 in 31 games.

He first joined the organization in 2011 when he was hired as the new head coach of the Rochester Americans, the Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate.

We will have more details and commentary in Wednesday's edition of the Niagara Gazette.
