N-W's Jibb to seek Nationals bid

Niagara Gazette — Niagara-Wheatfield sophomore Jack Jibb will attempt to qualify for his first career national-level competition in sprint triathlon when he competes this weekend in a qualifying race in Richmond, Virginia.

As a sprint triathlon, Jibb and other contestants will race in a half-mile swim, 20-kilometer bike ride and finally a five-kilometer run. Although just 15 years old, he will compete in the 16-19 year Junior Elite category.

The top 20 finishers will qualify for the Nationals, which will be held in Ohio in August.
