Niagara Gazette — Niagara-Wheatfield’s boys and girls soccer teams both had their way against opponents from Lewiston-Porter in high school soccer action Wednesday.
In the boys’ varsity matchup, Noah Seiler recorded a pair of goals as the Falcons blanked the Lancers, 5-0. Alex Haake, Chad Jeatona and Jeremy Bari also chipped in with a goal apiece. Niagara-Wheatfield improved its record to 3-0 in the Niagara Frontier League and 3-2 overall. Lew-Port fell to 1-3 in the NFL and 1-4 overall.
In the girls’ match, Danielle Chatten led the Falcons with a hat trick and Emily Belotte added another goal as the Falcons downed the Lancers, 4-1. Marissa Belardi recorded seven saves for the Falcons, who improved to 2-1 in the NFL and 3-1 overall. Lew-Port fell to 1-2 on the season.
Ken East 1, Falls 0
Jeff White scored the only goal of the game to lead the way for Ken East (2-2-1, 2-1 NFL). Conor Hoar only needed to make one save for the Bulldogs. The Wolverines fall to 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in league play.
Grand Island 3, Ken West 0
The Vikings got goals from Joe Farrell, Ryan Ross and Josh Horvath to improve to 3-3 on the season and 3-1 in the Niagara Frontier League. Justin Figler made six saves for Grand Island. Kenmore West drops to 2-1 in the league and 2-3 overall.
Ken East 1, Falls 0
Victoria Knobloch scored the lone goal of the match as the Bulldogs defeated the Wolverines (2-2, 1-2 NFL). Justine Perrault made 10 saves for the Wolverines.
NT 3, Sacred Heart 0
The Lady Jacks (3-1, 2-1 NFL) knocked off Sacred Heart 25-23, 25-15, 25-17. Gabby Hansen had 14 kills, eight digs and five aces, while Kayla Higgins recorded 12 assists, 11 digs and five aces. Liz Wildt has two kills and three blocks for NT. For Sacred Heart, Caroline Aurricchio had four blocks and five kills and Mia Wild had 10 digs.
Falls 253, GI 261
The Wolverines (1-1-1) beat the Vikings (1-2) by a close score at Hyde Park. Kevin Borowicz medaled for the Vikings by shooting 36 in the match. David Yarger shot a 39 for Niagara Falls while teammate Justin Hayes scored a 40. For Grand Island, Tyler Pyc shot a 42 while Carson Suffoletta shot a 44.
NT 266, Ken West 267
Devin Donahue medaled for the Lumberjacks (2-2) by shooting 36 as they defeated the Blue Devils (0-3-1) at Deerwood Golf Course.
N-W 270, Lew-Port 274
The Falcons (2-1) downed the Lancers (0-3) at Niagara Frontier Country Club. Justin Quinn shot 39 and medaled for the Lancers.

Sean Brown medaled for the Spartans (4-0) by shooting a match-low score of 41 as they beat the Bulldogs (2-1).

Megan Povinelli and Christine Thomas won the fifth and final point in second doubles to lift the Falcons to victory. Sam Dworzanski and Megan Breier won in first doubles for N-W and Nicole Dworzanski took third singles to help the Falcons improve to 3-1 on the season. Gretchen Ringler and Jessica Robins won in first and second singles, respectively, for the Lady Jacks (3-1).
