Bills release K Lindell

Niagara Gazette

Niagara Gazette — The Buffalo Bills announced Monday morning that they've released veteran kicker Rian Lindell.

Lindell, who was the longest-tenured member of the roster leading up to the transaction, spend 10 of his 13 years in the NFL with the Bills, joining the team in 2003 after playing the three previous seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

Lindell holds the Bills' record for top career field goal percentage, converting 225 of 270 attempts for anĀ 83.33 percent success rate. His 225 field goals made and 980 career points scored both rank second respectively in team history.

By making this move, the Bills are moving forward with rookie kicker Dustin Hopkins, selected in the sixth round at this year's NFL Draft.
