Power drop third straight

Niagara Gazette — Dalton Scarborough threw nine innings of shutout baseball for the Olean Oilers on Wednesday night to blank the Niagara Power, 5-0, in a New York Collegiate Baseball League game on the campus of Pitt-Bradford.

The loss drops the Power to 9-12 on the season, 5.5 games back of first place Olean.

Scarborough allowed only four hits and struck out six Power batters on his way to win No. 2 on the season.

Niagara’s top seven hitters went a combined 1 for 22 in the loss, and nobody in the Power’ lineup was able to manage an extra base hit.

Right fielder Johnny Blue Craig went 1 for 3 and improved his batting average to .364 on the season.

The Power are 3-7 in their last 10 games and will look for better results this afternoon on the road against the Elmira Pioneers in an exhibition game against the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League member.
