Falcons lose in double overtime

Medalist James Spanbauer's 43 wasn't enough to lift the Wolverines (0-13) over the Lancers (4-9 NFL) at Frontier Country Club.

Lockport 254, Grand Island 267

Aaron Schauger's even-par 36 at Lockport Town and Country Club led the way, despite the Vikings' (7-6 NFL) loss. Kevin Borowicz also chipped in a 37 while Jacob Sweeney shot a 41. J.J. Napoli led the way for the Lions (11-2 NFL) with his 40 and Evan Williams and Joe Quirk added a 41 and 42, respectively.

Nia.-Wheatfield 260, North Tonawanda 271

Medalist Zach Dubuc shot a 40 and Noah Wrazen added a 42 to help the Falcons improve to 10-3 at Deerwood. Alex Behr and Devin Donohue each had a 41 for the Lumberjacks (6-7 NFL).

GIRLS TENNIS

Starpoint 4, Hamburg 1

Paulina Masailo and Jasmine Mott each won in first and second singles, respectively, and the Spartans (8-1 ECIC II) swept Hamburg in doubles play to earn the league win.

Grand Island 4, Ken West 1

Mia Villani, Annie Corrao and Zaineb Khawar helped the Vikings sweep singles play and improve to 8-3. Audrey Filey and Rachel Pera won in first doubles to lead the Blue Devils (4-8 NFL).

Niagara Falls 3, North Tonawanda 2

Carli Leo won the deciding match in third singles in three sets to earn her fourth win on the season and help the Wolverines (4-7 NFL) to their first road win. The Falls also swept doubles play while Gretchen Wringler and Jessica Robbins won in first and second singles, respectively, to lead the Lady Jacks (4-7 NFL).
