NU volleyball coach resigns

Niagara Gazette — staff reports

Dottie Porch resigned as Niagara women’s volleyball coach after one season citing personal reasons, the university announced Monday.

The Purple Eagles went 15-14 overall and 12-6 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play in Porch’s lone season, which ended with a MAAC tournament semifinal loss to eventual champion Fairfield.

Porch was hired to replace Susan Clements, who led Niagara to three straight NCAA tournament appearances. Clements was hired away by Wright State, where she went 2-30 overall and 0-14 in Horizon League play last year.

Porch came to Niagara after being an assistant coach at Pitt, George Mason and Indiana and playing professional volleyball in Europe.

Niagara intends to conduct a national search for a new volleyball coach.
