MONDAY RECAP: Bulldogs hand NF baseball first league loss

Nia. Wheatfield 18, Grand Island 4

Christine Thomas, Marissa Smith, Alexis Becker and Emma Falter had three goals apiece for the Falcons (10-2). Goalie Jordan Robinson stopped 12 in net. Madz Wright scored twice for Grand Island (5-7).  

Niagara Falls 11, North Tonawanda 3

Maddi Chille scored four while Erika Fruscione, Malorie Garabedian and Angelica Porto all scored twice to lead the Wolverines (6-9, 4-3 NFL) to their third straight win. Marissa Stockings also scored, while Raven Dolson made seven saves.

BOYS TENNIS

Lockport 3, Ken West 2

Lockport (7-5 NFL) won the final three matches of the night for a come-from-behind victory. Nick Atallah and Niko Mancuso won first and second singles for the Blue Devils (1-10 NFL) before Lockport's Nick Guay won third singles in straight sets. Doubles pairings of Evan Williams-Brandon Reid and Evan Dick-Chris Pawlinski clinched the win for the Lions.

Lew-Port 5, Niagara Falls 0

Joe Laurendi, Jake Warren and Yash Maheshwari swept singles for the Lancers (11-1 NFL), while the second doubles pairing of Ryan Taylor-Tyler Richmond remained undefeated on the season.

Nia.-Wheatfield 3, North Tonawanda 2

Pairings of Jacob Collins-Crae Contangelo and Joe Corio-Preston Miller swept doubles for the Falcons (10-2 NFL). Andrew LeMar and Greg Hastings took first and second singles for the Lumberjacks (5-7 NFL).

COED TENNIS

Wilson 4, Akron 1

Isaiah Barrett and Dominic Curcione won singles matches for the Lakemen. Dave Curcione and Alex Keil added a win in first doubles.
