Niagara Gazette — For the second straight year, Niagara County Community College will be hosting a summer shootout for local girls high school basketball teams.
Three one-day events will be held June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9 at NCCC’s Sanborn campus. Eight teams will be divided into two pools with each team playing the teams within its pool. Every team is guaranteed three games with certified officials.
The top two teams in each pool, based on record and point differential, will advance to the semifinals. Games will begin at 8 a.m., with the semifinals set for 2:30 p.m. and the final at approximately 4 p.m in the main gym.
The winning team will receive free pizza. MVP and Hustle Awards will be given out for each event.
The cost of is $200 per team per daily event, with discounts for teams that sign up for more than one day. Each team is required to have someone available to keep the scorebook and operate the scoreboard. Concessions and training room supplies will be available throughout the event.
A $3 admission will be charged for spectators, though children under 10 years old will be admitted for free.
